Founding Donor 24 Million Dollar Campaign
The V Foundation of South Louisiana’s initial fundraiser is for its (4) Legacy Funds. This will give Vandebilt the much needed permanent endowment to compete and excel as a premium high school in the country, as it should be. We are recruiting an initial 2,400 “Founding Donors”. A “Founding Donor” agrees to pledge, fund, or recruit a minimum of one thousand dollars a year for ten years or pledge, fund, or recruit ten thousand dollars. The target allocations are: Teacher (12 million), Athletic (4 million), Arts (4 million), Facilities (4 million).
These, and all, donations are subject to project approval by the Diocese and Vandebilt Advisory Board to be utilized.
Flagship Funds
The board has designated four flagship funds for donor participation, based on the Administration’s own long term blueprint strategy. Each flagship fund has one or two categories:
Long term funds, principal (assets) are forever invested, a percentage of the interest of the fund (to be determined by the board) will be donated to Vandebilt annually. The Teacher Fund is only available as a Legacy (long term) fund. This is to enhance stability for increased teacher payscales.
Short term funds, principal and interest to be donated to Vandebilt annually or allocated over a short term as designated by the donor.
Teacher (L)
Salary and benefits. Currently teacher pay at Vandebilt Catholic is at approximately 80% of Terrebonne Parish High School pay scales. The “V” Foundation goal is to be at 120% of the Terrebonne Parish pay scale. This will ensure Vandebilt to have the best and brightest teachers for our high school youth. Teacher designated funds must be long term.
Athletic (L)(A)
Nonacademic coaches’ salaries, athletic facilities, uniforms, athletic equipment, buses, and other athletic expenses.
Arts/Religion (L)(A)
Arts- Band, choir, the rest of non-athletic clubs, facilities, uniforms, equipment, trailers
Religion- Books, videos, guest speakers, chapel, e.g. any materials to enhance the spiritual formation of our students.
Facilities (L)(A)
Construction, purchase, maintenance, additions and improvement of all academic, administrative and non athletic physical structures on the property.
Designated Funds
These are donor specified funds outside of the Flagship funds. The donor will get to decide “exactly” what they would like to fund (e.g. the girls softball field) and how they would like their donation allocated. Please contact the board to set up the details. The donor will also be notified for approval for release of funds.
